Worker Proposal: WordProof.io — The Open Source Telos / EOSIO WordPress Plugin
WordProof: Hassle-free Blockchain for WordPress
“In five years from now, if you don’t timestamp your articles on the blockchain, you’re going to be considered a fraud.”
Brendan Blumer
Leverage the WordPress community and Blockchain for a 100% Open Source Future
WordPress is a textbook example of a community which is stronger than any other commercial company. With more than 100 million sites and thousands of Open Source developers, it dominates 32,5% of the worldwide Content Management System market.
The purpose of WordProof is to generate the go-to WordPress to Blockchain bridge, bringing the benefits of Blockchain and EOSIO to the WordPress community in a user-friendly way, without any middle layer solutions. It is 100% accessible and forever free.
From Time-stamping and Proof of Integrity to Logins
- The first step is time-stamping. On every object you create or edit, you are able to sign your submission with your EOSIO wallet.
- The second step is to do this automatically as a background process (e.g. with a specific, limited ‘content signer key’ which is entered into the WordPress dashboard).
- The third step is the possibility of logging in via the EOSIO identity system, which is evolving and will be available in the coming months.
On-boarding WordPress users to Blockchain
The audience of people using WordPress and EOSIO is small, maybe fewer than a thousand. That’s why you don’t have to have an EOSIO account when you install the plugin. If you don’t have one, we’ll onboard you in one or more of the EOSIO-chains, hassle-free. The intention is to partner with EOSIO-chains to provide free accounts for WordPress users.
WordProof Flow
- Install the plugin “WordProof — WordPress Blockchain EOSIO”
- Choose which EOSIO chain to connect to. If you don’t have an account on either, the plugin on-boards you on a chain of choice (we promote Telos for the first 6 months, as they are sponsoring the project).
- On every Page, Post, Product or Privacy page creation or update you’ll be able to sign your submission on the EOSIO blockchain.
