Trump isn’t a scammer — he’s a drug dealer

In recent days, two trump supporters have given their lives for him.

One guy attacked a Cincinnati FBI office with a nail gun, and was killed by police. Another rammed his car into a barrier at the Capitol, and then shot himself.

Make no mistake — with the chaos surrounding the FBI’s search of Mar-a-Lago, these incidents will only escalate. “Civil war” is trending on right-wing cesspools like FreeRepublic. They are absolutely willing to die in his name. The problem is, they are dedicated to taking as many of the rest of us down with them as they can.

This of course has led to a lot of surface-level liberal soul searching. “Why do they still support him?” “Don’t they see his lies?”

Lies and truth are irrelevant to them. Because he’s not scamming them. He’s their drug dealer.

He was a rich, powerful man who told them that all their worst impulses — their hatred, xenophobia, misogyny — were not only acceptable, but should be celebrated. He taught them that they should be able to do and say literally anything, and never suffer any consequences.

That is a powerful drug.

And once you get addicted to a powerful drug like that, you will do whatever’s necessary to keep getting it. You will cast aside family and friends. You will…
