We need to talk about abortion — again
Two years ago, just as Roe v. Wade was getting overturned, I wrote about abortion here on Medium.
Well now social media, and Twitter specifically, is overrun with “pro-life” people pontificating about their horror over the evils of abortion.
Maybe it’s because abortion is going to be on the ballot in a big way in November, and the “pro-life” forces are getting nervous.
They should be.
Because in basically every case where abortion rights are put on the ballot, even in deep-red parts of the country, those rights are getting affirmed.
In just one example, abortion is going to be on the ballot in Florida in November, and some are predicting it could turn the state blue.
So I think we need to revisit the world that “pro-life” activists are really advocating for, if abortion is murder.
Because if it’s not murder, it’s none of their goddamn business.
And they desperately need to be confronted with the consequences of their worldview. We all do.
If abortion is murder, here’s what we are faced with:
- Women who get abortions and the doctors who perform them are charged with first-degree murder.
