Don’t push

Just carry on.
Don’t push ahead.

Just do the work.
Don’t make an effort.

It’s easy to start work on something difficult.
You can do great things in very small steps.

If you know the way
you don’t look for greatness
(though it may find you).

Don’t promise great things.
Don’t treat things too lightly.

If you assume everything is difficult
that makes everything easier.

Poem #63 from ‘I thought I was on the way to work, but I was on the way home’, my new version of Lao Tsu’s Tao Te Ching. Buy your copy here.
