Almost a year later, Dylan Thompson will get a second shot at making the LA Rams roster, as he signed with the team Tuesday afternoon.

He had the opportunity to make the Rams last season, when Thompson was with the team during OTAs and training camp. However, the former Gamecock star was released on August 30th and has been out of work since then.

It is unlikely, however, that Thompson will not see much playing time if he is on the roster come opening day. Fellow quarterbacks Jared Goff and Sean Mannion are well ahead of the 25-year-old on the depth chart.

With new, young head coach Sean McVay at the helm, Goff is more than likely going to be getting most of the first team reps during the offseason. It took awhile for the Cal Bear to get his first bit of NFL experience under Jeff Fisher, but Goff showed glimpses of what he could become with more exposure.

Will he make the team this time around? Well, with only two quarterbacks before the signing, there is a good chance that Thompson could be the third string QB.

In other moves: the Rams released former Northwestern State running back De’Mard Llorens, who tried out for the team during rookie camp.
