Movies that taught me not to give up in life
Movies sell because of their stories. Stories sell because we can relate to them. These are the movies (so far) that taught me not to give up in life.
There is always a splash of emotions of happiness, joy, sadness, anger, inspiration, etc when we watch movies that are relatable to our lives.
I watch movies depending on my mood or what I want to feel at the moment.
It’s true! No matter how we tried to be analytical beings, we’re still emotional beings who look for intense feelings and emotions. Who look for love, happiness, inspiration, contentment, etc.
Otherwise, we wouldn’t feel alive if we don’t feel anything.
So now, let me share the movies that inspire me, and taught me not to give up in life no matter the adversity (and maybe they will inspire you too!)
Unbroken. A true story. (Available on Netflix)
It’s been a long time since I watched this film. It’s a true story of Olympian Louis Zamperini during WWII.
After a near-fatal plane crash, Louis spent 47 days with the Japanese navy after getting caught. He was sent into a prisoner-of-war camp where he was tortured badly by the Japanese navy leader.
Despite the hardship, Louis never gave up. His willingness to live was still present in him.
His dream of being an Olympian when he was a kid taught him how to endure hardship and fight for what he thinks is right and wanted.
Life of Pi. (Available on Netflix)
One of the best true story films I’ve ever watched.
It’s a story of a young man who lost his family in a disaster at the sea.
He was the only survivor in his family. While he was cast away, he realized he was not alone. Some animals from the zoo that was with them on the ship survived — one of them is a Bengal tiger.
The lesson that I got from it is never to give up even though life seems to lose its hope.
Everything is possible.
We can tame even the fearless and most dangerous animal on the planet.
And of course, StarWars — specifically the prequel trilogy. (Available in Disney+)
Love the story. Love the wisdom.
Many will agree with me that this is one of the best stories of all time.
Although it took me more than 20 years to appreciate this movie because of its graphics — because I only care to watch it when I was in my mid-20s. After all, we’re hooked with stories much more than the visuals themselves.
Starwars taught me not to give up in life as we have our mission that comes with power.
Since the dark side is much more seductive and easier, we forget that we have the power and mission in life that leads us to light side.
That’s it! Thanks for reading.
So, what movies can you add here? Which movie has touched you deeply? I’m excited to hear it.
