We’re hiring an Editor

When we started Crew a little over a year ago, we didn’t know the impact writing would have.

For the first few months of our company’s life, sharing stories was the thing that kept us alive. We experimented with Medium in it’s early days and built an audience. We wrote weekly and grew our blog from zero to thousands of readers in months.

Our stories were viewed over 2 million times and appeared in publications like The Next Web, LifeHacker, and The Oatmeal. One of our posts was turned into a TED video on YouTube.

A year later, our blog gets over 60,000 unique visitors per month and has a thriving community. We’re happy with what we’ve done so far, but we’re looking to do much more.

The mission

We‘re aiming to increase the number of visitors to our site ten fold in the next half a year. To do this, the answer might not be just writing more but, finding different ways to grow through providing value.

This could be pushing forward on an initiative like our Contributing Writers program or coming up with tools like Unsplash or How Much To Make An App.

This is why we’re hiring our first full-time Editor at Crew.

Your job will be to evolve our blog and other content projects. You will take control over what currently is working and be responsible for finding other impactful ways we can grow.

Your main tasks will be:

• Coordinating a content schedule
• Managing contributing writers
• Editing articles
• Reporting and acting on data
• Finding new ways we can grow by creating value
• Writing occasionally
• Syndicating blog posts
• Finding more syndication partners

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Experience growing a blog or online publication
• Written blog posts that have received substantial traffic (greater than 20k pageviews)
• Experience editing articles
• Used tools like WordPress, MailChimp, and Medium
