3binary was formed in 2013 by 3 developers, who all met each other through The Starter League. It’s how I met them as well.
3binary are lean, agile, and expert at what they do: building web apps. My goal for their identity was simplicity and sharpness, with a nod to the tech world.
The result is a merging of the number 3 and the letter b in a geometric shape reminiscent of a chain link, and the the letters G and J (in arabic) for the names of one of the two original founders.
The evolution of the mark was fairly straightforward.
The greater visual identity includes a color palette that is fresh to tech, a reference to Ruby on Rails (hexagonal gem, the color red), and a geometric pattern suggesting organized structure.
I later illustrated the portraits of the original team for 3binary following the visual style of the 3binary brand.
