Today I am back from holidays. This is one of this moment where it was easier to take aside from work. Holidays are nice to remember that work is just work. Colleagues are not the center of our world. That a world exists outside work. That family and friends are truly important to make life enjoyable.

Along the year, this is not however as easy as during the holidays. We are stayed even more connected to social networks to get the last bit of information. This information is full of strange stories of entrepreneurs, startups. I mean strange now as I can read through the stories but that was not always the case. Those stories often claim that we should spend the most of our time for work. To have a week full of it, without other slots for family, friends, hobbies or whatever you like besides work. I said strange before, i was wrong. This is gross.

There is even now a social tendancy to get up early to get more time. Time is not the problem. This is how we tackle work, how we see it, how we get the picture of it, how we say NO time to time, how we exchange with colleagues, how we manage our work time, how we stop being upset with everything, everyone.

Philosophy is one tool that can help you to take a step back and “medidate” on present time. It does not require lots of pratice to get nice results.

I would recommend to understand the tools that you use at work as well. Firstly is their number. If you use lots of them, then the most difficult is to focus. Secondly thing is to avoid using too much the tools that made yourselves toxically dependant of them like Slack/Skype/Teams. Thirdly but not least, is actually to use other tools designed from the beginning by people with better values, from the core with all the previous thoughts. Those values that will make work just work, and still allowing you to get your job done in better conditions.
