ConvertKit Launches Visual Automations

If you had to start from scratch– with everything you know now– what would you create?

That’s what Dylan (our product designer) and I asked ourselves back in January 2017 when we met in person to reimagine ConvertKit from the ground up. Starting with a blank slate– or in this case an empty sketchbook– we designed what we felt would be the perfect email marketing experience.

We threw out every preconceived notion or anything that would be easy to build based on the foundation we had already. Right away we had a few requirements:

  • It had to be more powerful and enable more advanced automation than our current experience.
  • But with that, it also had to be even easier for beginners to set up and use.
  • And finally, it had to be fast.

We hit all three of those goals and created something that is truly magical to experience.

That experience is live today

I could talk about this forever, but the best thing for you to do is get out and use it, which you can do right now! Our new visual automations are now live for all ConvertKit customers. Jump into your account and let us know what you think!

What makes it special

Advanced features

In this new experience we were able to add advanced functionality like conditional branches, triggering events when a tag is added, and using exact dates in a sequence.

This type of advanced functionality will keep you from being held back by limitations in ConvertKit.

Simplicity

At the same time we didn’t make any compromises on how easy it is to use ConvertKit. In fact, the new visual editor makes it even easier for beginners to see exactly what their subscribers will experience.

Speed

In competing tools, you’ll spend tons of time clicking through unnecessary screens and waiting for them to load. That’s why in ConvertKit we made it so that the new automations load very quickly and you never lose context.

Focus on the things that don’t change

All of this comes from our desire to focus on the things that never change. The team at Basecamp talks about “investing in things that don’t go out of style”.

So, instead of chasing a trendy new idea or adding me-too features to keep up with competitors, we want to focus on the things that don’t change.

Customers will never complain that we made ConvertKit fast so it doesn’t waste their time, or that it’s now so easy to understand they don’t have to hire an expert or constantly be reading the knowledge base.

These things don’t change and that’s where we’ve chosen to invest.

Our customers have important work to do and we value their time. That’s why our mission is to help you automate your marketing as quickly as possible so you can get back to creating your art and sharing it with the world.

We believe our new visual automations can help you get there. So try them out today and let us know what you think!
