Project Manager — Village Data Analytics (VIDA)

About us

Village Data Analytics (VIDA) sets out to make economic development in Africa and Asia much more effective by applying the best data technology available. Specifically, we solve the problem of energy access planning in remote regions. We do that by using satellite imagery and on-ground data to give our customer’s decision-making insights into rural communities. Our team includes software and AI engineers as well as rural market experts.

Location: Anywhere. You can also choose to work from our office in Munich or Capetown.

Responsibilities

• Regular (weekly or bi-weekly) engagement with our clients to present our work, discuss findings, and fine-tune their future requirements.
• Interact with the VIDA’s product development team. You will be responsible for channeling customer feedback to them. You also need to integrate new analytical technologies into the workstream.
• Meet project deadlines and communicate professionally in English with international clients (French, Portuguese, Spanish is a bonus).
• Be passionate about changing lives and about new data technologies from AI to satellites.

Your profile

• 3+ years experience as a project manager or lead in data-driven consulting, SaaS, or data science projects. Experience leading data science professionals.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with emphasis on team collaboration and the ability to influence across functions and drive consensus.
• Deep understanding of technology solutions.
• 3 + years of experience in programming languages (most importantly python), data analysis frameworks, and stacks are desired.
• A degree with an engineering or technology background.
• Team player with an agile, entrepreneurial mindset. We are a growing company and exploring new ideas all the time. We need you to chime in.
