Based in Second Home Lisboa, its founder Sofia Ramos publishes author editions and nonfiction, with a focus on management, personal development, entrepreneurship, personal motivation, and human resources – or as she puts it, “Books that make us think”.
What is the best bit about working at Sabedoria Alternativa?
Looking for new potential authors.
What recent project are you the most proud of and why?
All of my bestselling self published authors. It is possible to sell your own book and achieve success as an author and speaker.
What do you want your company to achieve within the next year?
Find and champion ten more authors.
What advice would you give somebody thinking about starting their own company?
Work hard, persist and always innovate.
How has being at Second Home Lisboa helped your work?
For me, Second Home is a way to work with other people (in the same environment), to feel an international influence being in Lisbon and to achieve more creativity by exposing myself to its atmosphere every day
What is your favourite design feature about Second Home Lisboa?
The orange desk lamp that sits next to where I usually sit.
Outside of work, what place in Lisbon stimulates your imagination the most and why?
Jardim da Estrela, because it has beautiful trees and plants, like Second Home!
