Globally, we are living longer and healthier lives than ever before. However, a vast number of people still suffer needlessly from preventable conditions, many dying prematurely. And demographic and disease shifts, health security and climate change all pose significant and growing threats to global health.

Health underpins the common view of the future we want, as articulated in the SDGs agenda for 2030. At the core of SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being — is the powerful concept of universal health coverage (UHC): that patients, wherever they live, should be able to receive the quality health services they need without suffering financial hardship.

No single organisation or sector can achieve UHC on its own. The private sector has a key role to play in addressing this challenge and to achieve this and other goals partnerships and collaborations across sectors are fundamental.

Global Health Progress seeks to promote and enable this much needed collaboration. A searchable network of over 250 collaborations involving more than 1,000 partner organisations, it details the scope, scale, and breadth of those collaborations working to strengthen health systems and expand access to quality healthcare

Commissioned by the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations, the website is an interactive resource hub that we hope will not only chart the activity happening globally but also serve to promote increased partnership and pre-competitive collaboration both within the private sector and with wider partners.

The site launched at the World Health Summit in Geneva and was accompanied by a range of promotional materials aimed at raising awareness of the platform amongst delegates.
