EOS News for the Week 9/3/18

This is the first draft of an EOS Newsletter. I am going to start a weekly release of this letter in a completely low-tech format and release it on Facebook, Medium, Linkedin and via Email. The purpose of the letter is to keep people up to date as to what’s happening in the EOS World in 5 minutes or less. For a longer video recap we recommend “Everything EOS”.
You can subscribe to the email version at http://eosnewsletter.org. If you have something you want to add, just post it at facebook.com/groups/eosnews, or send me an email at fred@workcoin.net)
Overall Stats: EOS 6.51 / RAM 0.12 / Accounts: 296,365 / 4MM Trans.
EOS has seen a very nice rise in the last week, outperforming BTC and ETH. Ram prices have been stable in EOS terms. Accounts creeping up at 1,000 / day — still not growing virally. Daily transactions are down to 4MM (versus peak of 10MM).
New Trend: GreyListing
The largest contributor to EOS traffic is a spam / bot called “block twitter”. To fight such spam, “grey-listing” of accounts is being implemented by BPs.
Scare: RAM attacks
Last week there was a reported hole in some contracts that allowed grabbing of user RAM. This has been plugged (quickly). As Rob from CypherGlass notes: this would have required a hard fork in ETH or BTC.
EOS Lynx — EOS Dice Integration
Last week our company (eoslynx.com) integrated with https://dice.eosbet.io/ to bring a very seamless integration between iPhone and a dApp. Stay tuned for many more integrations and a dev API.
This weeks event: Hackathon Wyoming / EOS Lynx token sale
200 developers, EOS NY, EOS Lynx (our company) will be in Wyoming next weekend. I expect quite a few new projects. We will kick off our EOS Lynx token sale this week as well.
Sept Calendar: London.
There are a number of blockchain events in London in Sept, but the one we are focused on is the EOS Hackathon on 9/22 and 9/23. I will likely be there.
That’s all folks.
Fred.
