Legendary Angel Investor Dave Berkus and LegalZoom Co-founder Eddie Hartman join as WorkDone advisors
I’m thrilled to announce that Dave Berkus and Eddie Hartman — two incredible business leaders, investors, and tech visionaries — have joined the WorkDone advisory board.
Dave is the President of Berkus Technology Ventures, LLC, and Managing Partner for Wayfare Ventures LLC. Dave has made over 170 investments in Southern California technology businesses during the past 20 years, and currently serves as Chairman of five such companies. In 2000, Dave was named “Director of the Year” for emerging growth business by the Orange County Forum for Corporate Directors, and in 2011 Dave was named “Los Angeles County Technology Leader of the Year.”
Dave has been around the block so many times, they named it after him. I asked him for a quick quote on why he was excited about WorkDone. Here’s what he had to say:
“WorkDone is an amazing idea turning into an amazing company, and Joe Rogers is one of the smartest people I know. I’m looking forward to advising the WorkDone team through the early stages as they begin to scale.”
We’re looking forward to it, too.
Our other new advisor, Eddie Hartman, built LegalZoom from the ground up with his 2 partners, Brian Liu and Brian Lee, turning that company into the nation’s leading online legal brand, which has now provided affordable and trustworthy legal solutions to over 3.6 million Americans over close to 20 years.
As a lecturer on law at both Stanford and Yale, and currently as the Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the global management consulting firm Simon-Kucher & Partners, he has a unique perspective on the challenges businesses face around growth and pricing. We also go way back — here’s what he had to say about WorkDone:
“When I was fresh out of college, Joe was both my boss and my mentor. I watched him routinely transform the business processes of major corporations. Later, at LegalZoom, he helped transform our platform, a major advantage in taking on the status quo of the legal industry. He is the undisputed heavyweight champion of workflow automation. With WorkDone, he will leverage the power of AI to revolutionize process automation, creating fresh value for organizations around the world.”
I’ve never been awarded a heavyweight championship before, but I’ll take it! I can’t wait to keep working with these brilliant advisors as we grow WorkDone into a world-changing company.
