The scale of disruption created by COVID-19 is unprecedented. People have had their job or internship plans disrupted on short notice, some are facing layoffs, and many worry about their work or immigration visa status. In order to survive, companies are forced to change their recruiting plans, pivot products, and revisit their budget, runway, and fundraising strategy.

Corporations like Google and Facebook recently announced grant programs to support people, businesses, and organizations impacted by the pandemic. While Workera is still a startup, it isn’t exempt from doing its best to contribute to society in this time of such a profound challenge.

To do our part to help people and businesses during this pandemic, we’re announcing new actions to match companies with candidates in the AI community.

These actions include:

  • For companies still hiring. Talented members in our community working in technology companies have been let go and are available for jobs in AI. At the moment, the supply of AI talent on Workera exceeds the number of job listings. To help the business community, we’re making it free to post jobs and evaluate applicants with our standardized tests for AI skills for any company hiring data scientists, machine learning engineers, and software engineers-machine learning until the end of June 2020. Apply here to enter your requirements and our team will be in touch.
  • For companies going through layoffs. We are committing resources to help your AI team members in their transitions. We will run free AI career coaching sessions, provide interview preparation tips, resume review sessions, and connect them with companies that they find appealing. Please reach out to friends@workera.ai to find out more about our outplacement services.
  • For individuals whose job search is affected. Many active job seekers got their interviews paused or canceled, are worrying about their work visas, or are seeking career advice. If you’re in such a situation, join our Slack group to interact with members of our community or apply here. Our career advising team will do its best to help you strategize your job search.

Workera is defined by its community of AI practitioners and companies. We are determined to help and are confident that, by standing together, we will emerge stronger than ever.
