Follow the dress code policy of your company

Every organization has a dress code for employees different from other workplaces. The color and fabric of the dress too differ. Some organizations will have a plane shirt and black or brown pant for both men and women. Having the same dress code for both men and women employees, the company can demonstrate that it treats employees equally.

Your appearance should be clean and groomed

It is not important how expensive your clothes are rather how cleaned and neat they are matters a lot. Your clothes must be cleaned and ironed every day. A well-groomed personality creates a positive image at the workplace.

Wear clothes that best fit you

Always wear clothes that fit you perfectly. The dress shouldn’t be too tight or loose. Wearing such a dress can either make you uncomfortable or distract attention of others. Ensure that when the company take measurement to stick dress, give them the size of comfortable fit.

Pay attention to your shoes, glasses and watch

Some common things, that are easily noticeable in both men and women are the watch, glasses and shoes. Do not wear too fancy and trendy watches and glasses. Wear glasses that fit properly. Please make sure that your shoes are well maintained and polished before leaving for the office. Do not play with them all the time. And yes, the glasses that you wear shouldn’t slip down to your nose.

Look at your accessories

Do not wear too many accessories. Wear simple ones, as they are only meant to compliment your dressing style. Also, see that they are not making noise. For example, swinging bangles in a lady’s hands.

Casual Fridays

Many of the corporate offices allow casual outfits on Fridays. But don’t misunderstand it. Do not wear too casual outfit as if you are going for an outing. Remember it is just a day during the week given to you so that you can wear your favourite clothes. But see that the apparels are neither too casual nor formal. Some companies allow jeans, t-shirts while some stick to a casual dress code though.

Thus, just follow these simple rules for your dressing style in the professional environment. Choose formal business colors and try to maintain your neat, well groomed image. Because your professional image has extreme importance in a corporate environment, following, dressing etiquette at the workplace is as significant as the quality of your work.
