WorkflowGen 7.16.0 introduces support for Windows Docker containers. These enable modern CI-CD pipeline integrations and automated deployments, with industrial-grade production, test and development environments. Since WorkflowGen containers are more portable and efficient in terms of resource consumption, they allow the seamless deployment of more than one WorkflowGen instance on a single server. Comprehensive documentation is available in the WorkflowGen for Docker guide.

Version 7.16.0 also now features Microsoft Identity Platform (MIP) v2.0 authentication, alongside the other OIDC-compliant methods (Azure, AD FS 2016, Auth0 and Okta) introduced in recent versions of WorkflowGen. MIP v2.0 configuration instructions are available in the WorkflowGen for Azure guide.

Performance improvements to the workflow engine include optimized management of request data locks, action assignments and macros. The User Portal now allows administrators, process managers and supervisors to cancel the assignments of team actions assigned to team members. As well, there’s a new option to display exception error details when engine trace mode is enabled. In the Administration Module, processes can now be configured to display the homepage and expand the My requests in progress section upon action completion.

All of the Node.js-based components have been migrated to TypeScript. GraphQL has been updated to version 3.0.0, and now supports wildcards in the input file allowed folders parameter. The webhooks API has been updated to version 5.0.0, and the Auth and SCIM modules have each been updated to 2.0.0.

Note that Oracle Database is no longer supported as of WorkflowGen 7.16.0. We recommend migrating to Microsoft SQL Server 2017 or later.

Check out the WorkflowGen 7.16.0 release notes for all of the details.
