Within the framework of our Recruiter Tips project, we approached Danai Pappa Krosse, a Talent Acquisition Specialist, for her tips to candidates.

Danai has 2 tips at this stage of her career, regarding rejections and rude candidates.

“The rejection part will always be a painful process for me, especially in cases where I don’t personally agree with the reasoning from the hiring manager. My approach in tackling that issue is being 100% honest and transparent both with the candidate as well as the hiring manager. I am here to give my opinion and transfer information both ways and not just form the hiring team,” notes Danai.

Referring to candidate rudeness, she says: “When it comes to rudeness, I get it, recruiters might not always be experts in the field they are hiring for (obliviously, otherwise we wouldn’t be recruiters!) but that doesn’t mean that candidates need to be rude if we don’t know exactly what each technology does.”

According to Danai, the same goes for salary ranges. “We are not asking for you salary expectations in order to leverage that information for a lower salary. We only want to see if we will be able to possibly send an acceptable offer to you and check where the market stands,” she concludes.
