I’ve always been a huge fan of Social Messengers, they are the easiest way to communicate with friends and family. Now, there is something new taking the market by storm, and you should consider if it’s the right tool for you: the Work Messenger.

The idea behind it, is to enable the same quick, personal, and effective communication you have with your friends — also when you work and do business.

A good work messenger:

  • Is a place where it’s considered professional and acceptable to approach people, and discuss work in details in real-time, without invading people’s privacy (even when you are colleagues, but not close personal friends) .
  • It’s a place where all the people you work with are instantly available. Just like Facebook Messenger connects you to your Facebook Friends. At work, you want to be connected to your “email-graph”, i.e. having every person you ever emailed, instantly available on the work messenger, even if they don’t have the app yet.
  • It has the tools you need to discuss work. This means it’s web/desktop version is as good as (or better than) the mobile (a work messenger is 70% desktop, while social messengers are 99% mobile). It also has to support files exchange, history, searches and so on.

But matching the capabilities of a personal messengers is only the beginning.

Where a Work Messenger becomes GREAT, is the Groups.

Once you can instantly get anyone you work (or do business with) on a Work Group, you can start using it for:

  • Team discussions
  • Ongoing projects communication
  • Discussions with clients
  • Discussions with external providers

Groups is where a great work messenger really shines — these groups usually replace endless multi-Cc email chains — with fast, effective and much more “human” interactions. Things that would take hours or days on email, get resolved in seconds on a work messenger group.

Get yourself up and running in seconds

The Work Messenger is called Workgroup. Check it out to see if that’s a tool you want to adopt.

The SIMPLE IDEA behind Workgroup

Workgroup lets you sign in with your email address, and instantly makes anyone you ever emailed with - available to you on a messenger, for 1:1 or for group communication.

How? when you text someone on Workgroup:

  • If they already have the app, they get your messages there in real-time (just like on any social messenger).
  • But if they don’t have it yet, they get your messages on email, and you can even see when they opened the email and read them.

This means you can now message with anyone about work, you don’t need their phone number and you are not forcing them to download an app (all the functionality is available on the web).

Messaging IS where the world of business communication is going, so if you think this may be the right tool for you —I would recommend checking it out.
