Messaging meets Noise-Cancelling

Solving messaging’s biggest pain — noise.

My first flight ever with noise-cancelling headphones, was an experience I’ll never forget. It transformed my NY-London journey, from a noisy stressful night, to a concert hall, with just me, and the voice of Lily Allen.

This is what great technology feels like. Simple, and clear.

Our work environment is becoming noisy too. In the past 12 months, everyone is in the process of switching from email to real-time messaging.

And yes, there are huge advantages for real-time work communication over the old email, but messaging does have one drawback.

I call it “noise”.

Messaging is like “water running under a bridge”.

Once something is said, it can very quickly disappear downstream, as people continue chatting and bringing up new things, some relevant to all group members, and some, well, not so much…

You might share a bright idea, but as the conversation goes on, two hours later, nobody remembers your idea — sometimes, not even you…

Great ideas, decisions and action items just fall between the cracks.

The solution is super-simple.

As I said, great technology is simple and clear, so I want to suggest a super simple solution.

What if, you could simply tag action items as you chat.

Then, click a noise-cancelling button, to hide the chatter, and focus only on what was actually agreed.

It looks something like this (that’s the mobile version, it’s also on the web):

How is this useful?

You get all the benefits of real-time communication groups,

AND

  • Nothing falls between the cracks.
  • Everyone knows what was decided.
  • Everyone knows what THEY have to do as a result
  • Group members who were not in the conversation, can now see just the bottom line.

Want to try it?

To give it a spin, head over to WorkGroup - www.workgroup.im . You’ll be up and running in seconds.
