A locked door blocks the road ahead. A closer look piques your interest. You try to turn the knob but without the key it’s futile. So, you google the door. Turns out it’s quite the portal; it would allow passage to new ways of thinking. Further research weighs the pros and cons of choosing this road versus others. Some speculate that what lies beyond is so ground-breaking that this road should be the only road — a definitive one — the way of the future.
Frankly, it’s all a bit much to you. There are other, more familiar roads. Roads that have proven lucrative many times over. Besides, this new road is just a trend. It has yet to gain ground and is not as profitable as others. Think of what you could lose if this road led to nothing — what a waste!
Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go. — T. S. Eliot
It’s easy to justify not doing something when you couldn’t even if you wanted to. This is when you must try. Break the lock. Build a key. Obliterate any obstacle in your way. We are so inundated by apathy and lackluster efforts that merely trying something new is an act of anarchy.
