SO Thankful for Friends Like YOU!

I must say, I am SO thankful for friends like YOU that I have met through Periscope and Snapchat!

When I announced the #WorkOnWriting project (for more info read this), my friends on everywhere social were so supportive. A few have even began writing everyday with me (thanks Bree Palmer and Klaudia Jurewicz)!

The biggest thing I hope to learn from this adventure is how to properly incorporate writing into my business strategy. I know that we all have a story to tell, and while this story can be shared through amazing platforms like Snapchat and Periscope, it can equally be shared through writing.

My view of writing and content marketing right now is kind of negative. I feel that many blogs, even personal blogs, have become lifeless seas of how-to articles. They lack personality and a fun feel to them. I don’t like that! What happened to blogging of old where you told a story? Where you shared intimate details? What has led us to believe that personal and business blogs have to be split?

I mean aren’t us marketers preached to that people want to see the face behind your brand? If that’s the case then it means that business ultimately falls back to the personal side. The face of your brand is YOU. You as a PERSON. With feelings, and emotions, and a story!
