I have my 8-second-average-media-consumer attention span competed for every minute of every day, everywhere I go.

However, I am most focused on work when I use Workplace. Here’s why:

1. Diverse Media

Workplace keeps my attention by sprinkling an array of engaging media surprises throughout my day — from live video brainstorms with comment Q&As, to impromptu polls, to image rendered PDFs, to animated GIFs.

How was I able to properly express my reaction to any scenario at work before GIFs came along?!

2. Short Form Content

Who loves long messages? <insert silence>

Workplace by Facebook encourages a culture of short, succinct messages with support of visual media. This means quicker responses to questions, faster feedback, and shorter turnaround time on approvals.

3. Active Space

Workplace enables real-time ideation, sharing and feedback. All project stakeholders put their heads together in one group post or Chat until a decision is reached or a project is finalized.

This keeps me on my toes — hence, I can move fast, stay alert, and always be engaged.

4. Community Push

The transparent nature of Workplace enables teammates to support ideas instantaneously, thereby accelerating leadership approvals and execution of ideas.

My colleagues and I tag each other in relevant posts or comments, taking you straight to the information you need to see.

5. Polls

If I want to get a quick pulse check of ideas from the wider team, creating a poll in Workplace is the best way to do it.

Rather than getting sidetracked by calling a meeting or going around to each person individually, polls give me feedback in a flash.

6. Personalization

I think of Workplace as my personalized communications portfolio — I can choose the frequency, form and deliverability method of what I see, when I see it.

Never before in my life have I had this level of customization when it comes to communication.

7. Accessibility

Aside from the people and teams in your area, who really knows everybody else in the company and what they do?

With Workplace, I don’t have to waste time asking around. I don’t even need a phone number or email address — all I need is a name and I can find someone and their job title on Workplace.

8. Knowledge sharing

Workplace lets me tap into the collective knowledge of our community. If there’s something I need information on, I just post about it in the relevant group and the answer’s posted right underneath.

Workplace puts so much great information in front of me that I just never would have seen before.
