WHAT HAPPENED IN OUR FIRST FULL YEAR? 2012 HUB HIGHLIGHTS

We got to know each other, at:

  • 10 local meetings, which included visits with Adam Werbach, Heather Fleming, Ethan Beard, and Brian Behlendorf
  • 3 YGL / Shaper mixers, including at the YGL Silicon Valley Summit
  • Our first skills-building workshop on collaboration with Todd Johnson of The Value Web
  • The first Shaper-YGL holiday party…and many unofficial Shaper meet-ups!

We also participated in several WEF events:

  • Davos: 3 SF Shapers were selected as the first Shapers to attend the WEF annual meeting in January
  • SHAPE NYC: 3 SF Shapers attended the first Shaper-organized conference in September
  • Annual Curators Meeting: 1 SF Shaper attended, to formalize governing standards across hubs

And supported each other in launching new initiatives, growing our teams, and expanding our reach… Scroll down for individual highlights from our SF Shapers. In June, we welcomed the 27th Shaper and tied with NYC as the largest Shaper hub!

WHAT’S NEXT FOR 2013? In the year ahead, we look forward to more workshops, professional development talks, mixers, and more; a soon-to-be-announced project; and new opportunities to take action in our local communities.
