Empire City Towers
Today, we launch a very exciting feature — Empire city towers! The current cities will eventually become massive cities that players can cooperatively build out and towers are the first step in that direction.

Towers!
Each player belongs to an empire city. As of today in our closed alpha, you’ll see some towers in your city that will fend off some of those pesky spawn campers. Players must collectively donate to upgrade their towers and repair them when they are damaged. Players will only be able to upgrade and repair their buildings a limited number of times per day so be sure to remind your fellow citizens to do their duty!
Be sure to harvest elder stone from your Elder Temple, as that will be a key resource in upgrading your buildings. Don’t forget to upgrade your Elder Temple to get more resources.
Eventually, players will be able to place their own towers, guards and traps to fortify their city. Cities will expand to become larger in the future to accommodate this.
The 3 tower types today will be:
- Frost tower: slows enemies with a ice projectile
- Frost beacon: emits an AoE frost nova that slows enemies
- Holy beacon: emits an AoE that damages enemies and heals allies

Upcoming City Raids
Ultimately towers will be protecting an empire’s precious resources. Stealing resources from an opposing Elder Temple will be coming in a future patch. You’ll want to bring a group to destroy the towers and kill any opposing players. If you can get to the city’s Elder Temple, then you will be able to destroy it and steal resources.
As great as empire cities are, they are just a precursor to fortresses and territory capture but that’s for another article…
