Taxi

Travelling by taxi from Fiumicino International Airport is the most comfortable way to get to WFP or to the city centre. The fare for the trip from/to the city centre is fixed at EUR 48. Baggage is included, for a maximum of four passengers.

It is advised to use the official taxi service, whose vehicles are white and can be recognized by the sign “TAXI” on the car top and by the identifying licence number on the doors, on the back and inside the car.

If you are coming directly to WFP or the Holiday Inn (both at Parco de Medici) from the airport, it is advisable to request the metre rather than the fixed fare, as it is highly likely to be less expensive. Taxis can be booked through the app Free Now (available for Android and iOS) or by calling 063570.

Trains

There are two trains connecting Fiumicino to Rome.

Leonardo express is the non-stop service that connects Fiumicino airport to Roma Termini station in 32 minutes, with programmed departures every 15 minutes (every 30 minutes during certain time periods). The fare is EUR 11 one way.

FL1 is a suburban train that connects Roma Fiumicino airport with WFP and other important stations in Rome (Ostiense, Trastevere, Tiburtina). The fare is EUR 8 one way. The train station closest to WFP is Muratella.

Tickets for trains and other public transport can be bought at the WFP newsstand (Ground Floor, Red Tower), as well as in most train stations, kiosks and shops selling newspapers.

Buses

There are several bus services that connect Fiumicino airport with the centre of the city. The fares are around 3–6 EUR depending on the company. More information can be found on the Fiumicino Airport website.
