Venue

The venue of the Consultation is the Headquarters of UN World Food Programme (HQ), located in Via Cesare Giulio Viola 68/70–00148 Rome.

Meeting dates and time

  • 06 December from 09:30 to 17:00
  • 07 December from 09:00 to 17:00

Registration to the event

NGO participants must confirm their presence through the online registration form. Participants from WFP can register through this form.

As part of the registration procedure, you will be asked to insert some key information about yourself and your organization. Many thanks in advance for your kind cooperation.

Registration upon arrival

Security badges will be issued for NGO representatives who do not have permanent accreditation to United Nations.

You will be able to collect the badges at the Security gate, next to WFP main entrance, on 06 December from 08:00 AM onwards. Please be informed that you will be asked to show your ID card or passport and to wear the building pass at all times during your stay in HQ.

The security badge will give you access to the WFP building for the duration of the Consultation. Please note that you will not be able to access WFP building without your badge.

Participants will be requested to collect a nameplate displaying their organization’s name at the Information Point, in front of the meeting room, before taking seat. Please feel free to change seating as the meeting progresses.

The cloakroom will be available to store all personal belongings (coats, bags, etc.) that you will not need during the meeting.

During the Event

On IT equipment, we kindly ask you to bring your own laptop/tablet. You will find multiple sockets with European standard plugs under every table. Please make sure to have the appropriate adapter, if necessary.

Free Wi-Fi access instructions will be provided before the start of the meeting.

This Consultation will be paper-free. All the relevant background materials and information will be available on this event page and will be regularly updated.

Kindly note that USB key drives with the entire package of documents will be provided by the Information Point upon request. No hard copies will be delivered.

Travel arrangements

Flights itinerary: Please arrange your travel according to the start/end time of the event. We will be happy to assist you in getting in touch with specific Divisions/Units for bilateral meetings you may want to have.

Accommodation: Please refer to the Accommodation Note for suggestions on hotels in Rome. Please be reminded that in order to the get WFP special rate, the reason for your stay needs to be specified in the booking request.

Meals: kindly be informed that buffet lunch on both days will be provided.

Transfers: Please be informed that no transfers from/to the airport will be provided by WFP. Kindly refer to the Accommodation Note for any further information about public transportation.

VISA requirements: VISA requirements for visitors are based on their nationality. Therefore, participants are advised to check with the Italian Embassy/Consulate in their duty station to determine whether they require an entry visa. Should you need a letter to facilitate your visa application process, we will be happy to assist you. Kindly inform us by filling the dedicated section on the online registration form.

At the Airport

The WFP Da Vinci Point staff are ready to greet travelers on their arrival at Rome Fiumicino airport. The team has access to airport security areas and can help travelers with check-in procedures, security and passport controls, boarding, problems related to flight tickets, and lost and damaged luggage.
