Additional Note(s): Tuchardeneau took a visit to the southeastern border settlement of Melorcia in the immediate aftermath of its destruction. Jacques spent a lot of time speaking to the town folk, and recounted several bits of wisdom they shared with him in various writings for the rest of his life. But he eventually mentioned in a letter to his brother that he could not bare to be there after much while, for “those who call Melorcia home are grieving, and a stranger has no part in such a scene.”
