If you are a digital nomad or a long-term traveler, you’re probably always asking yourself, “Where to next?”. I get it; I’m the same. We tend to live this kind of lifestyle because we can’t sit still. You’re probably already itching with the travel bug as you read this.

During 2020, digital nomad life was more hectic than ever. Who else found themselves residing in one place for longer than they had anticipated? I managed to move cities once during the pandemic, but I ended up taking things much slower this past year. No one knows what the future of travel will look like — or the 2021 year as a whole, for that matter. Things are opening back up slowly, which means that going global is starting to look attainable once more.

A quick note: I hate the term “Hidden Gem.” Just because a place is new and exciting for you doesn’t mean that locals haven’t enjoyed it for centuries. The term “Hidden Gem” tends to get thrown around when Westerners “discover” a place. Indeed, there is no discovery involved, of course. I wouldn’t call any of these places hidden gems — I’d call them less popular with tourists. So with that said, this list comprises destinations not yet packed with digital nomads or other…
