If we stand up for ourselves, people are mad. If we sit down for ourselves, people are mad. If we kneel for ourselves, people are mad. If we walk for ourselves, people are mad. If we fight for ourselves, people are mad.

Television

When we write for ourselves, people are mad. When we watch ourselves, people are mad. When we cast ourselves, people are mad. When we say we are voting for ourselves, people are mad. When we win for ourselves, people are mad.

School

When we teach ourselves, people are mad. If we teach about ourselves, people are mad. When we read about ourselves, people are mad. If we write about ourselves, people are mad. When we see ourselves, people are mad. If we teach our history, people are mad. When we integrate the schools, people are mad. When we segregate the schools, people are mad. When we ask for better schools, people are mad. When we think for ourselves, people are mad.

Love

When we love ourselves, people are mad. When we photograph ourselves, people are mad. When we appreciate ourselves, people are mad. When we celebrate ourselves, people are mad. When we take care of ourselves, people are mad. When we support ourselves, people are mad.

Live

When we live, people are mad. When we want to live, people are mad. When we try to live, people are mad. Just let us live, people are mad.

We don’t need your permission to live, people are mad. We will live. Be mad. We’re staying. Be mad.

We take a knee, people are mad. We take a stand, people are mad. It must be done, people will be mad. We are proud, people are mad. I don’t care that people are mad.

I’m here for all of it, and history is on our side too!
