On 5 March 2022, WIAD events around the world will be discussing the theme of “A Connected World”.

The WIAD22 global theme is A Connected World

It is time to start talking about World IA Day 2022 (WIAD22)! Earlier this year for WIAD21, over 45 online events hosted discussions about Curiosity and IA in 23 countries around the world.

With the success of a fully-digital WIAD21 earlier this year; the continued pandemic state of the world; in solidarity with our global community who may have vaccine shortages; and great opportunities for accessibility, inclusion, and global viewership; World IA Day Global advocates the digital-first organization strategy of local WIAD22 events around the world.

Events attendees

If you’re looking forward to a WIAD event, stay tuned! We plan to have a global talk and live Q&A sessions with our global keynote speaker. If you want to event-hop and explore local conversations about “A Connected World” and the discipline and practice of information architecture, you’ll be able to jump from Cebu City to Zurich along with us next March.

Events organizers

If you’re considering organizing or have already submitted an application to host a local WIAD event, that’s great! Here’s what we’re doing to support your planning:

  • Revamping the Organizer Guide to include online event planning logistics
  • Adding online event planning templates

The global WIAD22 team will also plan to support you as much as we can with

  • Partnering with an online event management service
  • Hosting videos on our Vimeo channel
  • Partnering with a transcription and/or translation provider to make your local talks accessible to a wider audience.

In doubt you are able to host an event in your city? Let us talk! We are here to help and support you. Online events are easier to plan. Contact the global executive producer at producer@worldiaday.org or the regional directors nearest you:
