Architecting a Connected World, presented by Stephanie Hughes
Catch Stephanie’s global keynote at any of the 3 live Q&A sessions on 5 March 2022. She will be taking questions in Arabic, English, French and German, answering questions

Sharing Community Insights
Defining and Understanding Community: Using Information Architecture and Research to Co-create World IA Association
Communities provide a sense of connection, place, and identity.
- How do people seek professional communities?
- How have these communities impacted their lives and careers?
From December through February, volunteers have been interviewing about 10 people a month from the community-at-large, whether they’re part of the IA community or not, to learn about how they define community and what role professional associations play in the community space.
We focus on the story of how people found their “home” community. We learn about the decision they made when they left a professional group. We invite the audience to help us think about opportunities to move the IA community forward.
The volunteers will be sharing the research learnings from these interviews at 2 different locations/timezones: tune in for this talk in Zurich and Los Angeles.

One place to go for World IA Day
Before the pandemic, people would follow along on Twitter through tweets and pictures of presentation slides and quotes from Japan where the day starts all the way to the west coast of the United States when the moon comes out to party. It was much harder to chase the sun.
This year, we’re taking the last 3 weeks to coordinate local events all in one place for you to check out what’s going on with World IA Day.
We’re using Vito, a privacy-first community hub platform that has no ads and no tracking. More than 30 locations hosting a WIAD event will be livestreaming to the WIAD22 Global event hub.
