Dr. Fakhruddin Mohammed: A Rare Combination of Scientific Temperament, Religious Devotion and Managerial skills

Sheer talent is important. But it creates wonders only when it combines with the right kind of temperament and true devotion. Skills make the results more complete and lasting. Dr Fakhruddin combines scientific temperament, religious devotion and managerial skills — a rare combination indeed. This combination has turned him into one of the most productive Muslim luminaries of the country. Silent in disposition, he prefers to speak through his works. But when words are needed, he is vocal, clear and methodical. Hailing from Hyderabad, a doctor by profession, he is now known not only nationally but internationally for his remarkable contributions in the field of education, relief, religious training and service to the poor and the needy, particularly for Muslim community. Apart from various pursuits in medical and educational fields, he has made special efforts to create awareness and confidence in the community to get educational enlightenment by offering different facilities at affordable and subsidized cost through scholarships and concessions. Scores of students have achieved their goals over past 30 years.

Born in 1958, he had his early education in Hyderabad. He then pursued medicine and did masters (MD) in Anaesthology from Tata Memorial Hospital, University of Mumbai. He also holds a Diploma in Hospital Administration. He is presently Chief Physician MESCO Diagnostic Centre. Before joining MESCO he served as Director Administration between 2000 and 2010 at Princess Durru Shehvar Children’s Hospital, Purani Haveli, Hyderabad and as Professor of Anaesthesia at K.B.N.M.C .University of Health Science, Karnataka and MES Medical College, Calicut, Kerala.

If MESCO is what it is today — one of the biggest organisations of Muslims in the country, Dr Fakhruddin has been one of its most glorious stars. It was he who took initiative in spreading MESCO activities in the field of education and health Centers all over India. He has orchestrated many important national and international seminars, Conferences and such academic events.
