Chances are most people that travel by plane often have had to deal with lost or delayed luggage at some point or another; it is inconvenient at best and the defeat of a whole trip at worst. Today, the entire British Airways flight BA0540 that left from Heathrow was informed that their luggage did not make it to Bologna with them.

This news that their luggage was either left at the airport they departed from or on a different flight altogether was delivered to an already frustrated cabin of passengers after a 2-hour conveyor belt delay occurred earlier, “causing carnage” according to one passenger.

Flight BA0540 was not the only British Airways flight missing luggage this week. 70% of another flight to Berlin that departed from the same airport was left without luggage as well. This large misplacement of luggage occurred despite a three-hour “baggage loading” delay.

Passengers were left confused and frustrated in the aftermath of the massive loss, with one disgruntled woman stating “now we have no clothes, no place to sleep tonight, and still no help from British Airways.” It is one thing to lose an entire flight’s luggage, but the airline seemed to drop the ball even farther by offering laughable apology gifts such as XL t-shirts and only issuing an initial alert with no updates since.
