The annual Consumer Electronics show is taking place in Las Vegas this week. Even though Apple never has a presence at the event, the company decided to “strike back with an expertly judged troll ad,” said Vlad Savov of The Verge.
Apple decided to place a very large, multi-story ad on the side of a hotel located right next to the Las Vegas Convention Center where the CES is taking place. The ad reads “What happens on your iPhone, stays on your iPhone,” and below this message is a link to apple.com/privacy, a page where Savov says, “the company expounds at greater length about the security of things like Apple Pay, Face ID, and the health data collected by the Apple Watch.”
This ad is a dig to Amazon’s Alexa and Google’s Assistant that have “taken over primacy at CES.”
