Avengers: Endgame Snaps Half of all Box Office Records Out of Existence

In the culmination of the most ambitious cinematic univerise in history, Avengers: Endgame blew through record after record, starting with an opening weekend of $357.1 (previously held by Avengers: Infinity War at $257.6M and Star Wars: The Force Awakens at $247.9M) and continuing through being the fastest on record to pass $2B gross.

It’s on track to beat the total worldwide gross as well at $2.715B. That title is still held by Avatar at $2.788B. But at this rate, probably not for much longer.

Ever since the birth of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the precedent for epic crossover events on the big screen has been taking shape, but Endgame puts the bow on the biggest gift it’s given to the movie industry:
