Earlier this month, it was announced that Gymboree filed for bankruptcy. As a result of this, approximately 800 Gymboree stores and Crazy 8 stores across the country will be closing. According to Leada Gore of AL.Com, “the chain is attempting to sell its higher-end brand, Janie and Jack, as well as its online business.” However, all of its physical store locations will be places of the past.

With the closing of all Gymboree and Crazy 8 stores, there are currently many clearance sales going on both in stores and online, and some items can be purchased for up to 50% off their original price. Their CEO, Shaz Kahng made a statement saying, “This is a heartbreaking outcome for our many dedicated employees and our treasured customers with whom we have built many strong relationships over the past four decades.”

The companies announced that gift cards will be redeemable until February 16th. However, the Gymboree Rewards and GymBucks loyalty programs will no longer be honored.

In 2017, Gymboree filed bankruptcy for the first time and closed approximately 350 of its locations.
