How to Add Liquidity to a wCELO Balancer Pool

This is a step by step guide on how to add liquidity on Balancer with Wrapped Celo, an ERC20 token representing a 1:1 share of Celo’s native token CELO on Ethereum. We will demonstrate how to add wCELO and wETH liquidity on Balancer.

Before you begin please ensure the following:

  • You have a browser with Metamask installed (Chrome and Brave work well for this purpose).
  • Your address you’ll use on MetaMask is already funded with some ETH to pay for gas costs associated with the necessary transactions during the swap process.
  • You will need some wCELO and wETH in your wallet.

You can begin by going to the Balancer Pools page and clicking the Connect Wallet in the upper right hand corner. Your MetaMask app will allow you to authorize which address you’d like to use.

You can find wCELO or any of Wrapped.com’s wrapped tokens within Balancer by clicking the Filter by asset button.

Once you filter by wCELO you can click the wCELO — wETH pool to proceed.

Once on the pool’s page, you’ll click the blue Add Liquidity button and insert how much wCELO and wETH liquidity you would like to add to the pool and in return how much BPT (Balancer Pool Token) you will receive in exchange. After you enter your values, you’ll confirm by clicking the Add Liquidity button and you’ll be prompted by MetaMask to confirm and sign your transaction.

Once you submit your transaction to the Ethereum blockchain you will need to wait some time depending on your gas fee price and the congestion of the network — you will see a Pending indicator during this time. Once your transaction is complete you can view exactly how much was transacted on the Etherscan block explorer.

You are now a Balancer wCELO — wETH liquidity provider! Congratulations!

wCELO is made possible in partnership with Wrapped.com, Tokensoft and Anchorage.
