Over two years of life in the pandemic, more and more people change their job. We more and more rely on the internet to solve all of the problems in people’s daily life to keep a distance from each other. More and more people would like to take out food from restaurants and order something online rather than go to the restaurants in person or shopping in the plaza. Through the articles and CQ researchers, The authors talk about a lot of reasons why people change their job through the pandemic period.

During the pandemic period, people want to earn more money to prepare for the demand for accidents. Lots of people want to change their job to some field which can earn more than their previous job. Also, some people especially female people decide to quit their job to spend more time on their family and children because the pandemic let them realize the importance of family times. Women always are asked to sacrifice more in the family than males by society. For example, there was a female landscape architect who quit her job and be a housewife to be a better mom. On another side, the remote requirement means we need to decrease the total number of people in one place. Then increased usage of machines not only replaces the work of blue-collar workers, but it also replaces the works of white-collar workers such as data analysis because the computer manipulates data faster and more accurately than a human. Besides the displacement of machines, the development of technology gives people a convenient platform to change their job. People can use an application like Linkedin to find a new job that fits their lifestyle better than before.

Through the articles, I learned that many employers are looking for employees. But lots of women still want to quit their job and go back to family because the family needs support, especially in this dynamic period. I agree with the point writer mentioned in the article “ and although employee programs designed to help balance work and family are abundant, participation is low among both sexes due to concerns that using them will harm their careers.” there are a lot of women who give up their privilege in some special treatment to make them competitive. To figure out this problem, we can add people’s value of family in their job rating at the end of the year.
