4 Years of Freelancing, 40,000 lessons
(and a few that cost me everything.)
I started freelancing with negative money.
Not “low balance.” Not “tight budget.”
Back then, if you searched “how to start freelancing,” you would get bombarded with a dozen YouTube videos and blog posts promising the same sugar-coated 8-step formula.
“Polish your portfolio. Pitch clients. Profit.” ~ That one Youtube Guru
But you and I both know what those formulas dont work, it’s like asking someone to just be confident in a job interview.
During 2020, it was peak time. The demand for freelancers was indeed high because there are only a few people who provide quality service. Those who started in 2018, had the upperhand during 2020's
I was having a lot of free time due to COVID and the initial few months, I just binge-watched Game of Thrones. I had nothing to do.
College was closed for the next 8 months. I had a laptop, Wi-Fi, and time. That’s when I typed those magic words into Google:
“How to make money online.”
Compartively, there was little to zero good content to guide me.
