Gaining fresh information is one of the greatest parts of being human.

While our bodies weaken with age, our brains have remarkable durability, storing up knowledge, memories, and skills for decades and decades.

This is all well and good, but sometimes, we’re told things that simply aren’t true. Teachers and family members bombard us with common mistruths when we’re young, and our naive minds accept what we hear without question.

But we can correct these fake pieces of information with some myth-busting, and in this article, I’ve debunked some of the world’s most popular lies.

Myth #1: Christopher Columbus Discovered America

You probably heard this one in a school history lesson. But contrary to what your teachers may have told you, Christopher Columbus was not the first man to discover America.

In fact, he wasn’t even the first European to discover America!
