Adolf Hitler is the most notorious villain in history, and most of us probably learned about him at school.

As the leader of the Nazi Party, he turned Germany into a fascist state, kickstarted the Second World War, and oversaw the annihilation of millions of Jews across Europe.

But you probably know this already, so in this article, I’m going to share some of the more unusual aspects of Hitler’s life.

Daft Fact #1: Hitler Loved King Kong

Hitler’s film preferences don’t usually crop up in school history lessons. This is understandable, of course, but it’s still a cool thing to know about for history buffs who love some extra detail.

Hitler’s rise to power coincided with the early stages of Hollywood’s Golden Age, and one of his favorite movies was King Kong (1933). He was obsessed with this movie, talking about it for days after his first viewing.
