As a history fan, I enjoy taking popular topics and putting a fresh spin on them. This typically involves digging into the deepest corners of the past and unearthing some obscure facts.

In the case of Nazi Germany, a ridiculous number of books have been written on this topic, so if you’re willing to do the research, there’s plenty of fascinating details to discover.

From Disney films to Christmas celebrations, here are five things you (probably) don’t know about the Nazis.

Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) is arguably the most famous animated film of all time. It had a huge impact on the film industry and continues to be adored by critics and audiences today.

Released just four years after the Nazis rise to power, Snow White soon became one of Hitler’s favorite movies. He viewed it innumerable times, and he purportedly found time to sketch the dwarfs.
