Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a disorder defined as emotionally unstable personality disorder in the DSM-5, is a psychological disorder marked by impulsive actions and frequent intense mood swings.
People with BPD struggle with weak self image, extreme anger outbursts, thoughts of suicide or harm, impulsive behavior, and how they relate to others. Their relationships are usually unstable.
If someone has at least 5 signs of the 9 according to DSM-5 (Fifth Edition), they are diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder.
However, you shouldn’t try to diagnose yourself. A mental health professional will conduct the necessary tests to provide an accurate diagnosis.
