AI Is A Terrible Self-Help Guru

Listening to rich self-help gurus would be better than relying on AI.

Having been in the self-help world for a decade and seeing the rise of AI results in seeing and experiencing a lot of “interesting stuff.”

You’re exposed to dubious and strange pieces of advice, like becoming a millionaire by planting millions of tomatoes and selling them for $1 each. How is that possible? You extract the seeds and replant them.

So I’ve been told.

But with the popularity of AI taking over and its impact across industries, things are going to get weirder.

That much is clear when we consider the mass adoption of AI Influencers.

On one end, I’m not surprised. AI is a cheap alternative to real people, and when you have technology that is becoming more realistic and people can’t tell the difference, it’s going to be easier to push AI normalization.

Especially when governments and companies aren’t really doing anything to regulate it.

For me, I take solace in the silver linings that these situations bring. As I know, AI has real costs to people, and that can lead to more oversight and companies being discouraged from using AI.

I write (and sometimes do videos) about self-help for those who don't like self-help. Complete with the occasional memes and riffs on the industry that I love.
