Be Careful What You Read

Negative and positive emotions are contagious

I’m in search of answers just like everyone else. I’ll read one article and then another and another, and then somehow, an hour passes by, and I still don’t have any solid answers.

Patience isn’t my strongest trait, and it’s easy to feel frustrated.

The last thing I’ve heard is that Medium is still looking into the issue. I’m not here to offer any theories or spread around even more disinformation. Plenty of that is going around.

My whole point of this article is to be careful what you read and how much time you spend trying to figure things out.

Yesterday, I found myself on a well-known writer’s Substack, and I checked out all 200-something comments on an article. The entire thing was so negative, and eventually, I started feeling the same emotions. The problem is that being miserable doesn’t solve a damn thing.

I’m not advocating to be clueless and happy, but spending a lot of time reading negative articles or a ton of negative comments isn’t the best use of my time, and it’s better to do something else. At least, that’s my philosophy.

I haven’t spent as much time reading on Medium today because I’m sick of reading about the same problem. Yes, I know I’m part of the problem because I’m writing about it again, but I’m ready to see some actual results from Medium and then I’ll make up my mind on how I’ll feel.

Until then, I’m going to catch up on some work, play video games and maybe go for a walk later today.
