It can be easy to assume that when you start writing that you need to put in your dues and wait a while before you try and start making money.

This is dead wrong.

You should try and start making money right away.

In fact, with a little guidance it’s not too hard to start making quite a bit of money right off the bat.

I waited too long to start to try and get paid for writing. I thought I needed to wait until my writing was good enough.

Don’t do that.

If you can’t slap more than a handful of sentences together you’ll be fine.

Here’s what you need to start doing.

1. Write Consistently

First you need to start writing.

Find a platform. A blog. Something.

Write every day for a month at least.

In the writing world this is your resume. You need to have something to point at and say I can do this.

You can try having pieces in a portfolio like you’re applying to a job in 1994, but I find it’s easier to show that your writing gets…
