Every Time Life Knocks Me Down, I Take a Nap and Try Again!
A story of emotional overflow and the healing power of blanket therapy
Last week, I cried at work.
It wasn’t a dramatic meltdown...just one of those moments where everything builds up, then suddenly spills out over something small.
One of the girls from my team offered to grab my umbrella from my bag. I had gotten stuck near the office in the rain earlier, so it was sweet of her.
But when she opened my bag, a foul smell hit the air.
It was probably the leftover food from the previous day’s lunch had leaked and it was awful.
The others started laughing and cracking jokes.
It wasn’t mean...at all.
They were just being funny. But when I checked the bag myself, even I felt disgusted.
The embarrassment hit me right there and before I knew it...tears were rolling down my cheeks.
It was all happening right there in the middle of the office.
