Everyone has heard of Taylor Swift whether you enjoy her music or not. She is universally well-known — a quintessential figure in the Hollywood limelight. And rightfully so. She has 14 Grammys to her name, is constantly topping charts with her music, and has been in the industry since she was fourteen.

Travis Kelce — tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs — is arguably one of the best players in NFL history. He’s very well known and respected among the football community, but outside of that, he is much less well known — that was until he became involved with Taylor Swift.

In July of 2023, Travis commented on New Heights — the podcast he shares with his brother, Jason Kelce. He talks about how he attended Taylor’s Eras Tour Concert and was disappointed that he wasn’t able to see Taylor. He wanted to exchange friendship bracelets and give her his number. By September of the same year, their romance was practically confirmed — as they were constantly seen out in public together.

After Travis was linked to the pop star, he and his family became more widely recognized across America — rather than just in the NFL world. Travis has been in the NFL since 2013, but just in these past few months of dating Taylor Swift, his fame has reached new heights (pun intended) at an exponential rate — ones that he is not used to.

In an appearance on Shaquille O’Neal’s podcast, Jason Kelce — Travis Kelce’s brother — spoke about how Travis has recently had to move out of his home because people were loitering around his property. This in of itself is bad enough, but to add onto to that, the first day Travis moved into his new home, he already had someone knocking on his window. Jason then goes on to talk about how different pop culture is compared to football culture.

Travis and the Kansas City Chiefs recently won the 2024 Super Bowl, and a few days after a victory, a parade was held in the team’s honor in Kansas City. Sadly, gunshots were fired into the crowd and one woman was murdered.

Both Travis and Taylor responded to the situation. Travis expressed his grief on his social media, explaining how much love he has for Kansas City and its community. Taylor took even more drastic measures, donating $100,000 to the family of the deceased woman.

These recent, unfortunate events surrounding Travis Kelce have many people wondering if crazed, obsessed Taylor Swift fans are at fault.
